SOS has focused on improving housing capacity for the past five years working on high risk housing solutions for at risk human sex trafficking victims. We have extensively remodeled existing facilities to increase capacity while providing a safer home with behavioral health support provided by our partner NGOs. The project provided additional capacity for a respected local NGO to provide up to 24 beds for victims aged 9 – 13 years old.
Capacity building at human trafficking facilities includes remodeling rooms to accommodate additional victims while creating a friendly, trauma informed atmosphere for recovery. SOS has successfully integrated our engineering and construction efforts with partner NGOs to create additional spaces for the past five years and performing over $1,000,000 in construction efforts.
Our current projects include a 90-student capacity childcare center and an educational kitchen allowing volunteer chefs and teachers to education young recovering victims with cooking, healthy menu selection and budgeting for shopping for meals to young victims that in some cases never learned basic life skills. The childcare center will provide full time care for children of victims so that the victims can attend counseling, GED high school education sessions, vocational training and mentoring to allow them to reintegrate into society and receive good paying jobs to break the chain of poverty and depression.
